Over the last few years one of the biggest holiday trends have been “ugly” Xmas sweaters. These tacky gaudy items once hidden in attics and crawl spaces have been brought to the surface and spawned one of the most innovative party ideas to date. The ugly sweater party with its combination of innovation and tradition made the perfect theme to celebrate BlackBerry’s latest developments. The highly addictive mobile device presented its newest apps amid a spiked cider and finger food at NYC’s Aspen social club. Guests enjoyed passing appetizers, and cocktails while playing big screen versions of “Angry Birds 3” and creating avatars with ugly sweaters. The latest app for BlackBerry is a more interactive take on the Ugly Sweater fad. Users can create avatars and then dress them in customized sweaters, snowmen candy canes and several other holiday themed items.
In addition to enjoying the latest edition of the Angry Birds phenomenon and several other reindeer games, a few BlackBerry fans were granted the opportunity to play a game of “Madden 12” on the BlackBerry PlayBook with none other than NFL baller Michael Strahan. The former “Giant” was on hand mingling with the crowd and offering helpful gaming tips. What a wonderful way to kick off the Christmas weekend! Good food, good cocktails, great apps and for all a good night.
