On September 10th, during Mercedes Benz Fashion week, NAUTICA presented its Spring 2011 Collection at the Donald and Mary Oenslager Gallery, the Library of Performing Arts at Lincoln Center. Thirty models featured the easy-to-wear American classics of NAUTICA. Chris Cox, the creative director, love of the sea was clearly evident in the collection that was inspired by “the spirit of the water”.
There was a mix of sport and elegance in the collection that was divided between beachwear and casual attire. We were shown pants with button downs, polo shirts, blazers, shorts, suits, coats and swim wear. In vibrant colors that reflected the different hues of the sea. The swimwear in bold colors of red and yellow with some color-blocking and the nautical flag print. The casual wear in seersuckers, madras, plaids, cotton quilted jackets, gingham dress shirts, linen suits, light cotton blazers, hooded sweat shirts, cotton 5 pockets denim jeans with boat shoes all reflecting the easy elegance we all know and love of NAUTICA.
NAUTICA Spring 2011 is for the active man who likes to look good with ease. It is wearable and interchangeable. “Dress, like the lifestyle, is easy and authentic.” Spring 2011 will also be the launch of the NAUTICA Footwear collection.
